Our History
St Mark’s Anglican Church
South Hurstville
The first service at St Mark's was held in 1919 in the original church building at 4 The Mall, which is now a council pre-school kindergarten.
In 1960, a new St Mark’s church, including a war memorial, was built by the parish at 8 The Mall, just up the road from the first church. In 1969, a new Christian education centre (St Mark’s hall) was built adjacent to the church. In 1970, St Mark’s established its community pre-school kindergarten in the lower level of St Mark’s hall.
St Martin's Anglican Church
Blakehurst
St Martin's / Blakehurst Anglican Church was planted out of St Mark’s South Hurstville in 1949 on land donated by a parishioner. A new church building was completed in 1965.
What’s next?
In August 2024, St. Mark’s Anglican Church South Hurstville merged with Blakehurst Anglican Church to form Saints Anglican Church.
As Saints Anglican Church, it is our mission to see our local community come to know Jesus.
